Have you ever just gone through life thinking you were doing fine and then the Lord puts someone across your path or allows you to hear a word that starts your mind to start thinking in a different direction . well that happened to me , there I was just sailing along thinking I was doing fine when all of a sudden out of no where I stumble across some families who also homeschool their children and I was able to get a glimpse of how they do things and wow what a revelation it was . I recently had the pleasure of watching the Bates family they have 18 kids and they homeschool. The Duggars who I also just found out about have 19 kids and homeschool.They aslo have a show called 19 and counting . I wanted to see how they do it. I only have three and have to ask myself at times why am I doing this homeschooling thing? They seemed to be so organized(Duggars) and they get along well with each other and she is still sane! I had to ask myself how come I seem to be having so much trouble and why is my life such a mess . Then the lord in his infinite wisdom showed me that I have been trying to do it all on my own without any help. Which by the way never works so I decided to take his advice and ask for help. Taking some cues from the Duggars I decided to implement chore time as part of our daily life where my son(13) and daughter(8) will take turns washing dishes , doing laundry , taking care of the dog and cooking dinner.This of course came as a shock to them but they will adjust . They are so used to me doing everything I guess they think why ruin a good thing . Well as they say all good things must come to an end. I know I won't be able to do this on my own so I am relying on the Lord to help me. Especially in those moments when I am tempted to just do it myself rather than explain for the 4th time how to do something I explained how to do just the day before some habits are hard to break but praise the Lord
I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME. (PHIL 4:13) Sometimes the Lord in his great mercy allows you to awaken from your slumber and exposes you to things you didn't think were possible. I was just listening to Joel Osteen as he was teaching on how the Lord wants us to think big and how we need to take the limits off of God and allow him to do great things in our lives. Well that applies to our children as well he wants to do great things in their lives and he allows us as parents to take part in that process as we homeschool our children. Aha I get it !that's why I do this homeschool thing! what an awesome responsibility but we know that we are
more than conquerers and we have the victory as long as we walk hand and hand with him and don't try to do it alone.!
